The Albanian Alternative, as the national party of the Albanians in Montenegro, is participating in the local elections on October 23 in the municipalities, where Albanians have lived for centuries, announced Maraš Dukaj, the political director of the Albanian Alternative (AA).
"Podgorica, Plav and Bar are cities where we as an autochthonous people live and create together with other peoples, with our neighbors and friends. The fact is that Albanians are not represented in these municipalities anywhere near the ratio they do in the number of inhabitants. Another problem is that there are fewer and fewer Albanians among the inhabitants of these municipalities. And capital projects in these regions are almost at a minimum," said Dukaj.
He added that we thus have a paradoxical situation.
"Albanians are always, without reserve, without calculation, sincerely and patriotically committed, not only for the benefit of the local administrations in which they have lived for centuries, but also for the state of Montenegro, for its development, success and progress. A significant number of our compatriots have unreservedly supported political parties for decades who consider themselves and call themselves citizens, without doing enough for Albanians as citizens. This is shown by the above and numerous other facts," said Dukaj, who is also the Minister of Public Administration in the Government of Montenegro.
He said that they in AA took responsibility.
"Wherever we have done this as a political party, we have shown and proven in action that we know and can start serious topics from a deadlock and come to a completely different situation. The best example of this is the municipality of Tuzi. And here it should be emphasized that we are not done to the detriment of no one. On the contrary. All residents of Tuzi, whatever their nationality and political orientation, see positive changes and now surely feel the benefits of our government themselves. We have proven and are proving that it is time for Albanians in Podgorica, Plav and Bar to vote for their autochthonous national representatives - for the candidates of the Albanian Alternative", concluded Dukaj.
