We are free people, we are our own people, we don't have anything else and we won't, and what we have, no one will ever take from us, said the vice-president of DPS and the candidate for deputy of the list "Together! For the future that belongs to you - Danijel Živković" Ivan Vuković.
At the convention in Podgorica, he thanked those gathered, saying that a message is being sent to the world that decent and civil, European Montenegro is still alive.
"Thank you for gathering in such numbers to send to the world that the darkness that surrounds us will never extinguish the light of Montenegrin freedom and that our fight for human and state dignity and normal life in this country will be continuous," Vuković said.
He thanked the gathered sympathizers of the DPS, SD, LP and DUA coalition for staying together in the previous period, gathered, as he says, on common values, and said that after three years in which they were in the minority, from Sunday to be in the majority again.
"And no matter how many of us there are, we have proven that we will equally love Montenegro and we will equally believe in the values on which this country rests and we will equally celebrate its history and we will equally work in the interest of its better future." And for that, thank you, my dear fellow citizens, and all our dear guests tonight. Thank you because I know how difficult it has been for you in the past period, it is difficult to watch what they are trying to turn this country into. It's hard to ignore their ignorance and primitivism, it's hard not to respond to their insults the way you traditionally responded in Montenegro. It was hard but we stayed together. We stayed together because we never had a dilemma as to why we are together, because unlike some, we never forgot why we are together," said Vuković.
He emphasized that they stayed together and that on the night of the final conference they were all together again.
"Even tonight, the man who led us through all the Montenegrin storms and who never allowed us to falter on the path that our famous ancestors traced, and which leads to a happier future for our descendants, our president Đukanović," Vuković added.
He also announced the holder of the "Together" list.
"There is our Danijel, behind whom we from the DPS and our comrades from the SD, DUA and the Liberal Party stood, all as one, determined to jump over every obstacle on the way," said Vuković.
In his further address to those present, he said that after June 11, he has a lot of work to do.
"While the coronavirus pandemic was going on, we thought that no greater pain could befall us, that it could only get harder and worse, but we were wrong," Vuković said.
He assessed that today Montenegro is a state of broken institutions, scattered public finances, adding that it is stopped on the path of economic development, with a health system on its knees, with degraded education and with a culture, which he says is not that.
"Until yesterday, an exemplary example of a stable multi-ethnic democracy is today our Montenegro, a country in which Montenegrins and members of less numerous nations are persecuted. Until recently, a leader in the process of European integration and a reliable ally of the countries of the NATO alliance, today our Montenegro is a testing ground for big-state ideas from the region This is what it looks like, dear friends, when you are released by those who do not know what freedom is, because instead of building our and their Montenegro with us after 2006, they chose to be unfree and to serve other people's interests," said the vice president of DPS.
According to him, "the so-called prime minister of the so-called government", as the most responsible among them, together with his "circus troupe", tries every day to "mask such a situation with shouting and hysteria, provincial manners and bad humor".
"Nothing is funny, not the three years we lost as a country and society, not the vaccines they didn't want and the lives we lost during the pandemic. Not the billion and a quarter euros that our children will return, not the stopped construction site in the North where they were supposed to for the sake of the Montenegrin youth, neither their mutual accusations, nor proving which of them is a lesser criminal, nor the Belvedere, nor the desecration of the monument to Ljub Čupić, nor "Pljevlja will be Srebrenica", nor "the wire knife Podgorica", nothing is funny", said Vuković.
And that is why, as he says, on Sunday they will have to account to the citizens of Montenegro, and soon after that, according to Vuković, they will account for their "misdeeds and damage" they have done to Montenegro somewhere else.
He added, they will take the remedial exam on Sunday.
"I spoke then about what we achieved through hard work for our city and all its people. I also spoke about the need to continue on that path and win so that no one in Podgorica would lose. We did not win. We gave everything we could and had, it was not enough. We explained that it doesn't matter who will decide what kind of city we will live in, obviously not well enough. We warned that a vote for Europe now and other declaratively civil parties means a vote for the Democratic Front, in vain," Vuković announced.
He added that it might not be in vain after all, and that on Sunday they have the opportunity to make a more responsible decision.
"Above all, we have to be more united. In Montenegro, cynicism feeds primitivism, and if we don't win together, we all lose individually. I'm sure we are and I'm sure we'll pass the reparations on Sunday together with ten. May the sun of our city shine forever and may Montenegro be eternal ", concluded Vuković.
