The vice president of the Socialist People's Party (SNP), Dragoslav Šćekić, said that the party with great piety preserves the memory of the former president of Montenegro Momir Bulatović and the eternal president of that party.
"Momir Bulatović, the first real president of Montenegro, who, with his human qualities, honor and honesty, deserved to be remembered and remembered by everyone only for the good and with great respect. Not only today, when the anniversary of his death is being celebrated, but every day we remember him, his words and deeds, his dignity, honor and honesty. It's easy to be there when it's good, but you have to stay when it's the hardest, and Momir cheered us on with honor and was with us, with his people, just when it was he was a pillar and example of honesty, loyalty to his country and honor," Šćekić said in a statement.
Bulatović, as he stated, was the embodiment of a true statesman, consistent and honest, decisive and dignified in all conversations.
"Our customs, culture, tradition and Montenegrin values were the backbone of his life and work, and he emphasized them with great pleasure and was proud of them. He was an example of suffering because of his faith in people, but also, this trait set him apart from others , of those who turned their backs on him when they should have stood by him. This showed his human greatness, faith, generosity and dignity, and on the contrary, their pride, disrespect and insatiable ambition for personal gain. He remained upright when they he was broken by those who were not even close to him, in any way. Which was certainly typical for Montenegrin conditions closer to our past - that the best were broken and hidden...unfortunately, this is still the case today".
Šćekić stated that he started his political career based on Bulatović's ideals and respect for him.
"I always admired his persistent attitude and his sacrifice for Montenegro. I remember all our conversations with great reverence and cherish the memory of him, our eternal president," Šćekić said.
