President of the Idemo ljudi - Democrats - United Montenegro (UCG) councilors' club in the Bar Municipal Assembly (SO), Momčilo Leković, said, on the occasion of the two-hour blockade of the main road near Virpazar on Monday, that his coalition will initiate the holding of the session of the Bar Municipal Assembly.

"The gathering of revolted locals in Virpazar as a sign of protest due to the traffic chaos and, as they said, the complete dysfunctionality of that place in the summer tourist season, the inaction of the local community, but also of other state authorities, is completely justified and requires an immediate reaction, especially the local government of Bar, which to us the most responsible for the general chaos that has reigned for years in this part of our municipality," Leković said, according to the announcement.
Yesterday's event, where the regional road was blocked for two hours due to traffic chaos, as stated, once again indicates a serious lack of coordination and efficiency in traffic management in our municipality and the state.
"This situation clearly shows carelessness and ignoring the needs of citizens and the community," said Leković.
For us councilors, representatives of the citizens, as it was announced, it is not acceptable that the citizens, in the absence of other options, are forced into such frustrating actions and blockades.
"It is obvious that there is a lack of long-term vision and planning to solve the problems of the residents of this region. But this is not new for us. Instead of investing resources in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure, it seems that the priorities of the local government all these years were focused on something else ", the statement added.
Ignoring problems, selectivity and complete neglect of Crmnica as a functional part of our municipality have led, as Leković claims, to the fact that we can freely state that the infrastructure in Crmnica 50 years ago was at a higher level than it is today.
"Virpazar, instead of being the "heart of Bar" through the actions of the local government, has become the "appendix" of the city, which is remembered on rare occasions," he said, the statement of the Democrats added.
Because of all the above, as announced by Leković, our committee club will initiate the scheduling of the session of the Bar Municipal Assembly as soon as possible, in order to finally start solving the numerous problems of the residents of Crmnica and Virpazar.
