Justice Minister Andrej Milović (PES) announced that he will not be in the government if Predrag Šuković remains head of the Special Police Department (SPO).

He said this in the Assembly during the debate on the Draft Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code of Montenegro.

"Suković will not be the head of the Special Police Department. Precisely because of the situation we had with the Do Kwon affair and the abuse of institutions in the security sector, everything that was done from the Do Kwon affair onwards. I am telling you that he will not be in the security sector in SPO . I know you are nervous, I understand you, he is your friend, you used him politically, you worked all the intentions of your party through him and you tried to deal with PES through him. You did not succeed and you did not succeed with with the complete security apparatus that you staffed and edited for three years, even from the inside we were somewhat successful, you still did not defeat us. We are in the Government, you are not. Your staff, I promise you, will not be there or I will not be a minister in this Government." said Milović, addressing the member of the URA Civic Movement, Ana Novaković Đurović.

According to Article 26 of the Law on Special Prosecution, the head of the SPO is appointed by the director of the Police Directorate, but with the consent of the chief special prosecutor. This means that without the consent of Vladimir Novović, the dismissal of Šuković, who advocates PES, will not be possible.

During the previous discussion with the Minister of Justice, URA MP Dritan Abazović said that he did not bring Šuković to the head of the SPO as the former head of the Government, but that it was done solely at the request of the chief special prosecutor Vladimir Novović.

Danijel Živković, a member of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), said that regarding Milović's views on the alleged illegal work of Šuković, he would request that a control hearing be organized in the Assembly.

On December 8, the news announced that there was a simmering conflict between PES and Democratic Montenegro over the election of the head of the Police Directorate, which was further deepened by Milović's sudden request to discuss the situation in the disunited sector internally at the Government session.

According to this information from Vijesti, Milović raised the issue of putting that extraordinary item on the agenda without consulting and knowing the Minister of Internal Affairs, Danilo Saranović (Democratic Montenegro), whose primary jurisdiction is that issue.

The Vijesti source claimed that the Minister of Justice was given a free hand by his party colleague and Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to negotiate on behalf of the PES, but also to demand immediate changes at the top of the security sector.

"At the Government session, Milović imperatively demanded that the Acting Director of the Police Administration, Nikola Terzić, Head of the Special Police Department, Predrag Šuković, and Director of the National Security Agency, Boris Milić, leave their positions immediately," said the interlocutor to Vijesti.
