The civic concept is the only recipe for the preservation of Montenegro, it was said from the forum of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in Rožaje.
As announced by the DPS, the campaign for internal party elections continued today in Rožaje, where the candidates for vice presidents were presented to the crowd.
DPS vice-president candidate Abaz Dizdarević pointed out that the members of the party made the idea of civic politics and the civic concept survive and be dominant in Montenegro.
"You don't need to be told how important it is that DPS exists and continues. The vitality of our policy is made by you. This storm, which is sure to pass, has degraded our society, as a system, and it cannot be said with certainty whether it is the result of ignorance or bad intentions specifically towards the north of our country," said Dizdarević.
As he said, they made an effort to defend what are civic efforts.
"I believe that after the general clericalization of society, this civic idea shows tenacity, and I also believe that the time for the healing of civic thought in Montenegro is coming," added Dizdarević.
He announced that he is extremely proud of the minority peoples who, as he added, firmly remained with the civil politics dominantly led by the DPS.
"It is the only recipe for the preservation of Rožaj and Montenegrin society as a whole," emphasized Dizdarević.
According to him, it is a privilege to see how many wise people and supporters stand by the policy of DPS.
"It is true that we made mistakes in the previous period and that we neglected some valuable people who were uncompromising fighters for the ideas of our policies. But these people still sit with us today because they are ready to forgive our mistakes, as well as and to continue this fight that is in front of us", said Dizdarević.
He added that these were mistakes from which they drew messages and that is why the campaign carries the slogan - "We can do better".
Candidate for DPS vice president Elvir Zvrko pointed out that it is not easy to think politically in front of them, who, as he assessed, have a kind of innate instinct for political thinking, as well as that they always know how to make the right choices both in politics and in life.
"I admit that I don't feel like a traveler or a guest here. I feel like one of my own, because we are all one big family. It is quite certain that the reason for this additional feeling of mine lies precisely in the warm and cordial welcome of the party leadership in Rožaje," said Zvrko.
As he stated, the party had mistakes in the previous period, but they showed that they are ready to admit them.
"Nevertheless, we always knew how to think politically. As you also knew, choose the party that is anti-fascist, civil, European, that is the bearer of sovereignty and the guarantor of the independence of Montenegro. You proved that in 2006 by the fact that Rožaje voted over 91 percent for Montenegrin independence," said Zvrko and added that this is what some cannot forgive them for.
He pointed out that, as members of the DPS, they must not allow themselves to succumb to the pressure of the "moneylenders and so-called liberators", who constantly promote the story that the DPS has not done anything in the 30 years of its rule.
"Could we have done more - we did. But we must not forget what those who came to power after us did in these three years," said Zvrko.
As he said, the authorities have done so many bad and harmful things in the last three years that it is difficult to count them because, according to Zvrk, they are causing damage to Montenegro day by day that it is impossible to remember everything.
"But let's remember that they put the health sector in a worse situation than it was during the years of sanctions. We don't have hydrogen, which has been used in medicine for 150 years. We don't have wooden spatulas to examine the throat. There are no basic medicines or antibiotics," Zvrko said. .
He said that these are the same people who refused to receive the vaccines provided by the then president of the country, Milo Djukanović.
"Because of that, a large number of human lives were lost because they did not want to accept 100 thousand vaccines," said Zvrko.
He stated that in education, since the PISA test has been conducted, Montenegro has the worst results.
"We weren't satisfied with them even until 2020, but now the results are even worse, and we ended up at the bottom of the world list," emphasized Zvrko.
He said that with that approach there is no prosperity for the country.
"They left the police without a car for several months. There are cries again - knife, wire, Podgorica, while for the prosecution it is nothing serious. The security sector has been torn apart, and we have become an irrelevant partner to our allies," said Zvrko.
The candidate for the vice president of the DPS, Jevto Eraković, said that after the restoration of independence, they began to develop.
"We had a lot of good results both on the domestic and foreign political fronts. And it moved with its own dynamics until 2020, when the concept of our country completely changed," said Eraković.
He said that there are a large number of respectable people who went through various trials during that period.
"We remember various moments of crisis where the identity of Bosniaks and Muslims in this region was threatened. But it seems to me that we successfully overcame all of that together," said Eraković.
As he said, there was a development of nationalism, "somewhere unconcealed - somewhere hidden" and the strengthening of these structures leads to the collapse of Montenegro.
"It seems to me that Rožaje was not an exception either. We know that there is a majority Muslim and Bosniak population here, but certain representatives of political structures dominantly take care of their party interests and not the future of their people to which they belong," said Eraković.
He pointed out that for many of them today, a municipal or ministerial chair is more tempting than the fate of their people and the fate of Montenegro.
Eraković said that there is a challenging period ahead in the party's existence, but also in Montenegro in general.
As he said, one of the priorities was the reorganization that will result in immediate intra-party elections on January 28.
"It is much more important what we are going to do after those elections, and that is to continue with new energy and new potential to defend what we have defended in the previous three years - the civic concept and to turn Montenegro towards European trends," said Eraković.
He pointed out that it will not be easy if it is seen that various movements are taking place that will lead to the splitting of certain political structures.
"After the reorganization, we will clearly show that we are ready to take on the responsibility that belongs to us, which is to lead Montenegro on its European path", Eraković concluded.
