There is no place for a pharmacy in Virpazar, the Ministry of Health responded to the parliamentary question of Democratic Montenegro MP, Momcilo Leković, who asked for information about the opening of a pharmacy in that place.
"The Ministry of Health informed me that the health institution of the Pharmacy of Montenegro 'Montefarm', with the consent of the Ministry of Health, had in the previous period undertaken activities with the aim of finding a space, and that together with the representatives of the Virpazar Local Community, they visited several locations, but no suitable space was found conditions for pharmacy work," Leković wrote on his Facebook profile.
If that is already the case, says Leković, and the Municipality of Bar is unable to help in this case and provide space, he proposes the "Mobile Pharmacy" project, which has taken root in neighboring Serbia and the world.
Leković believes that this project could come to life and be useful not only in Virpazar, but also in Sutomore and other places in the municipality of Bar and in Montenegro.
"Aside from the fact that we should never have allowed ourselves to get into this situation, that we no longer have space to open pharmacies and health institutions in many areas, 'Mobile Pharmacy' is a proposal that can be a solution," wrote the Democratic MP.
In the written answer to his parliamentary question, it is written that the representatives of "Montefarm" with the citizens of that local community visited several places, but they did not find any that would meet the conditions for opening a pharmacy.
The people of Crmic previously spoke to "Vijesti" about the fact that they have not had a pharmacy for five years, and they have to go to Bar to get their medicine. They also addressed the Ministry of Health in writing.
They also submitted a report to the construction inspection of the Municipality of Bar regarding the demolition of the premises of the former pharmacy for the construction of new apartments, as they stated in the report, without a building permit.
"There are about 1.200 people living in the Crmnica area. People of different ages, but mostly older patients with various chronic diseases. In the summer, the number of residents increases due to the return of patients from Podgorica and Bar to their homes. Virpazar is also a tourist center, which is visited by a large number of people every day during the season tourists from different countries. All these people need medicines, first aid, and personal hygiene products. There used to be a pharmacy in Virpazar and everyone was satisfied," states the letter sent by the people of Crmnica to the competent ministry.
