The list led by the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will win the local elections in Budva on May 26, said the leader of that party, Danijel Živković.

Živković, at the party forum in Budva, said that there is no doubt that in the local elections in that city, the strongest electoral list will be the one led by DPS.

"I am convinced that on that day an impulse and a turning point will start from Budva, not only for our party and its certain return to the place of decision-making from the position of the executive power, but also the return of Budva, but in general and of Montenegro, to the paths of those successes which it steadily and decisively walked until August 30, 2020," said Živković.

As reported by the DPS, he said that it is time for the reincarnation of the DPS force, which is why, as he assessed, every man in Budva is needed.

"Winning is not easy. We will come out with the best political offer, with the highest quality program, and you can be sure that we will win," said Živković.

As he stated, DPS will remove political competition from the political scene.

"And we will return to the place of relevance, and therefore Budva will regain its old and recognizable shine", Živković said.

He said that there is no stable and responsible government in Montenegro without DPS and added that everyone in the party will give their full contribution in order to be the strongest individual in Budva in the upcoming elections.

Speaking about party elections and party reform, Živković said that it is extremely important that they finish the work they started regarding internal party reform.

"Among other things, because the DPS has great and quality staff that we should make available to the public interest and the citizens of this city," added Živković.

The president of the DPS Budva board, Milan Tičić, said that his plan for the future management of the Municipal Board will primarily be aimed at achieving the best possible electoral result for the party in the local elections on May 26.

"Teaching from some of our mistakes, we know that we can do better, and we certainly know that we can do better and more than our political opponents who have been in power in our city for the eighth year in a row and who have brought it almost to the point of collapse," Tičić said.

He added that the DPS, as it overthrew the local government in the Budva Municipality Assembly with an absolute majority in the previous elections and exposed all the incompetence of the previous ruling structures, will also win the upcoming elections.

"Citizens are fed up with internal disputes within the government, whose mayor has been signing salaries and contracts worth millions from a prison cell for almost a full year," Tičić pointed out.

As he said, no major development project has taken place in Budva in the past eight years.

"We got a local administration overcrowded with party hires and total chaos in functioning," Tičić said.

He emphasized that on Sunday they will first finish the intra-party elections, and then together they will continue even more progressively with the election campaign.

DPS Vice President Ivan Vuković recalled that on April 6 last year, a session of the Main Board of DPS was held at which the withdrawal of party president Milo Đukanović was confirmed.

"It was not easy for us, neither in the days nor in the weeks after that. But we showed courage, responsibility, determination," Vuković said.

He added that they showed that they are a real team and that they don't forget what it means to belong to DPS.

"We showed what it means to follow the paths traced by Milo Đukanović. And I think that the Club of DPS deputies in the Assembly, as well as every official of the party in every other place, shows how they fight for the interests of Montenegro", said Vuković.

DPS MP Nikola Milović said that for him, it is an extremely strong motive to fulfill the citizens' expectations with the city development program that DPS will offer and with a respectable list of candidates.

"That in the future they are represented by people who are there thanks to their own merits and personal competences," Milović added.

He assessed that Budva must finally get a responsible government and a coalition that will give birth to the first person who will not abuse the trust given to him.

The member of the Main Board of the DPS, Snezana Kuč, said that the parties that were in power in Budva for the previous eight years "finished with power".

"For all eight years, the Municipal Assembly adopted decisions that are only in private interest. "Almost 80 percent of those decisions were related to selection and appointments," Kuch said.

As she assessed, it says enough about what the constituents of the government were most concerned about and what they were most interested in.

"The initiative in SO with which we overthrew the government is only the first half of this game, and the second half is our victory in the elections scheduled for May 26. That's why we say to our competitors - you will never manage Budva again, because this city can only do better with us", concluded Kuč.
