Nikolić called Novović a "sky prosecutor" and defends Jelena Perović: SDT conducts persecution according to the dictates of Vijesti

The spokesman of the Democratic Party of Socialists, Miloš Nikolić, called Chief Special Prosecutor Vladimir Novović a "sky prosecutor" and accused him of being prosecuted "according to the dictates of Vijesta and the 30th of August majority".

Nikolić spoke out after the SDT action in which the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Jelena Perović, was arrested.

"After the months-long attempts to illegally remove her failed, along with thousands of articles published in the Vijesti tabloid that tried to damage her public reputation and integrity, this morning they went one step further with the SPO's intrusion into the premises of the ASK. It is obvious that Vladimir Novović no longer has no intention of feigning integrity but agrees to be a mere tool in the hands of the parliamentary majority and media-political circles that draw targets, write indictments and pass judgments instead of the institutions of the system.That is why it is not surprising that hundreds of criminal charges were filed by the Democratic Party of Socialists in previous years four years still remain without any epilogue. Instead of an investigation into 30.000 new employees in the state administration, multi-million dollar fictitious contracts in the Coal Mine, embezzlement in Elektroprivreda and EPCG Solar, the disputed purchase of Port of Bar shares, a double negative opinion on CEDIS operations and daily abuses of official position of state functionaries, Novović deals with the mileage of the official vehicle of the director of ASK," Nikolić announced.

He stated that it is obvious that "a liberated Montenegro no longer needs institutions - it is enough for Vijesti to write an indictment, Novović prosecutes it, and the courts pass a verdict that has been decided in advance."

"The chief special prosecutor and all those who play with people's destinies, relying on press clippings and not on substantiated evidence, must keep in mind that everything is transitory, including the mandates in the positions they currently hold, and that any illegality will and an attempt to trample on human dignity, all under the pretext of serving justice, raise the question of the responsibility of those who participated in it," Nikolić concluded.
