Milačić: The arrest of Perović is a new blow to the corruption and criminal networks whose foundations were laid by the Đukanović regime

The arrest of the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), Jelena Perović, is a new blow to the corruption and criminal networks whose foundation was laid by the former regime led by Milo Đukanović, announced today the president of Prava Montenegro, Marko Milačić.

Perovic was arrested today.

"We congratulate the Special State Prosecutor's Office and the Special Police Department on concrete and decisive steps in the fight against corruption and crime. The arrest of Jelena Perović is another in a series of arrests in the fight against organized crime and corruption in this country and is a clear indication of commitment on the way to building society in which the laws are respected and enforced," Milačić pointed out in the announcement.

He added that in Prava Montenegro they believe that "Perović will finally pay the bills due to suspicions of abuse of his position, failure to react to obvious and numerous illegal actions and accumulation of multimillion-dollar assets of former officials, friends and godfathers close to the former regime".

"As well as that, among many others, she will also answer the question of why she concealed Đukanović's undeclared assets, starting with his watch, about which she was warned many times by Prava Montenegro in the Parliament, but also outside it. Montenegro's vision is clear , justice will be served, and no one will be exempt from responsibility on the way," Milacic said.
