The arrests carried out by the Special Police Department (SPO) on the order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (STP) are an indicator of the extent of imprisonment and abuse that existed in Montenegrin institutions, said Minister of Internal Affairs Danilo Šaranović.
He said that, in order for Montenegro to become the legal state that its citizens expect, it must have stable and strong institutions headed by responsible officials, who will perform their work legally, transparently and in the public interest.
"The arrests carried out by the SPO on the order of the SDT, including today's arrest of the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK) Jelena Perović, are an indication of the extent of the entrapment and abuse in numerous Montenegrin institutions that were supposed to protect the rule of law," said Saranović. .
He said that there are no more and will not be privileged.
"Full support for the work of SDT and SPO. We continue a strong and determined fight against organized crime and corruption at a high level", added Šaranović.
