The URA civil movement accused the Europe Now Movement (PES) and the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) of being "protectors of crime".
"We are glad that the European Movement no longer hesitates to publicly let everyone know that they are now greater protectors of criminal structures than even the DPS, and we believe that the people from the Montenegrin underground will know that they appreciate it, but they certainly won't all well-intentioned citizens of Montenegro eager for justice", said the URA in response to the PES statement.
"Citizens are witnessing the daily frauds that the Movement of Europe is now spreading to them, and the latest in a series is the abandonment of the Italian model of 'anti-mafia' laws that they announced for months and thus gave enough time to criminals to hide their property, sell it or make it in some other way unavailable to the competent authorities in Montenegro. To make matters worse, they not only abandoned the Italian model, but also proposed a legal solution that is significantly worse than the one adopted by the DPS, which is also discussed by the most prominent fighters against organized crime and corruption from of the non-governmental sector," adds URA.
They say that the government's proposed legal solution was "actually tailored to the mafia" and that "this is confirmed by the fact that it was written in strict secrecy and that any serious public discussion was avoided."
"Spajić and Milović gave up the possibility that the proof of the acquired property should be conducted independently of the criminal proceedings, which would significantly ease the work of the prosecution. The introduction of deadlines for action is also a novelty that makes the work of the prosecution more difficult, which also confirms the intention of this law. Family members are exempt from the Law proposed by the 44th Government, which we believe worries everyone who stood up and fought for justice, and we know that this is the easiest way to conceal property all these years of the parliamentary majorities, who presented themselves as angry fighters for justice in the previous period, that they will not fall for the prank that Spajić and Milović are serving them because of the armchairs," the announcement concludes.
