The initiative of the opposition to dismiss the Mayor of Podgorica Olivera Injac is not founded because the Report on the work of the Mayor, administrative bodies, special services of the Capital City for 2023 was sent to the Assembly of the Capital City on March 29, two days before the expiration of the legal deadline, which means that it was done in to the regular legal procedure, the Europe Now Movement (PES) said.
From this party, they added that the opposition's motives are clear to cause a crisis and stop the dynamics of the development of the Capital City, which, they say, is politically absolutely legitimate.
"Also, if someone from the current majority believes that with the opposition led by the DPS they should make a re-composition of the authorities in Podgorica, and that is not a practice that did not exist before.
However, for now, no one from the majority has expressed their willingness to cooperate with those they accuse of various malfeasance at the local and state level. If someone from the majority changes their opinion, they will have to explain to the citizens of Podgorica the motives and reasons for complicity with those they accuse as the main culprits for the long-standing bad state of the city and the country. This is also an opportunity for the leaders of the parties who signed the memorandum, Milatović, Abazović and Medojević, to prove that they are against cooperation with the DPS in Podgorica," the PES statement concludes.
