The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, said that Predrag Zenović can be the main negotiator and holder of the list of the Europe Now Movement (PES) in the local elections in Budva, and that political and state functions are connected, Portal RTCG reports.

He pointed out that everyone can contribute to the state in different ways.

He believes that before the arrival of the leader of the Western Balkans in Kotor, he should not fight with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, because of the name-calling of the Minister of European Affairs, Maida Gorčević.

In the upcoming local elections, the PES councilor list in Budva will be led by Predrag Zenović, while the list holder in Andrijevica will be Dragana Vučević. This was unanimously decided at the session of the PES Main Board.

Spajić, who is also the president of PES, supported the new candidates and wished them to progress at the pace of the Government, Portal RTCG reports.

"Everyone is aware that great results have been achieved in just five and a half months, as long as the current executive power is there. They are happy, of course, there are great challenges, but somewhere we sent a message of unity, when we unanimously supported our paper holders in Andrijevica and Budva. I think it will be a very nice story in those two cities," Spajić said.

Regarding the fact that the Center for Civic Education (CEO) called on Zenović and PES to abandon the intention of Zenović being the holder of the PES list in the local elections in Budva, Spajić said: "All of us who want to contribute to this country can do so in various ways. I don't see at all why someone would have to step down from the position of chief negotiator to get involved politically. I think that we all have two hats that we wear, both political and state, so I think they are connected in this case."

When asked to comment on the statement of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, that the Prime Minister should have protected the Minister of European Affairs, Maida Gorčević, after the name-calling of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Spajić replied: "I think we have a great obligation to host all the leaders of the Western Balkans on May 15 and 16 in our beautiful Kotor, we should not fight with announcements. I think we are very confident in our work. Mrs. Gorčević has my absolute trust and support for everything she does, and that is evident and to progress very quickly."
