The political scene of Montenegro in recent years has unfortunately witnessed the affirmation of retrograde phenomena, mythomania and historical revisionism and the conscious collapse of the progressive substance of society, that is why seriousness, decency and focus on numerous socio-political and socio-economic challenges are needed in the public space more than ever, and precisely this is how the Social Democrats of Podgorica, led by Boris Mugoš, were recognized, said the president of the Social Democrats of Montenegro (SD), Damir Šehović.
He said this at yesterday's meeting of the board of the Capital City of SD.
Šehović, as stated in the announcement of the SD, said that he is proud of the fact that the SD has shown itself on the political scene as a party that, as he stated, is consistent with the programmatic principles of civic and Euro-Atlantic Montenegro, "which inherits the culture of dialogue and emancipated behavior; whose numerous legal initiatives aimed at protecting and improving the standards of citizens (students, university students, domestic producers, pensioners, socially vulnerable categories...) were almost unanimously adopted in the parliament in the past few years."
"Thank you for your undivided support in our efforts to significantly strengthen the idea of a civic, more economically developed, more socially just and progressive Montenegro in our country through the creation of a new model of cooperation with programmatically and ideologically similar parties, associations and prominent individuals. Discussions on this topic are underway in the end, they take place in an extremely constructive and positive positive atmosphere, because we are all aware of the numerous essential challenges in our country and the need to build a credible political offer together," Šehović said.
President of the Capital City Committee of SD and vice-president of the Social Democrats of Montenegro, Boris Mugoša, greeted those present and praised the work of the councilors of that party in the city parliament.
He pointed out that the focus of the work of the Podgorica board is proposing concrete measures to make Podgorica a better and better place for all its citizens to live.
According to the SD, Mugoša stated that this entails solving numerous communal and traffic challenges in the capital city, "improving the business environment and opening new jobs, supporting socially vulnerable categories, more adequate support for athletes and sports teams."
Mugoša expressed his gratitude for the recognition of the results and way of working of the parliamentary club.
The SD states that Mugoša highlighted the positive reactions of a large number of citizens to the idea of cooperation with programmatically and ideologically similar parties, associations and prominent individuals, which, he said, is aimed at improving citizens' standards and strengthening the fundamental values of civic and European Montenegro. .
"The meeting of the Podgorica board of the SD was organized as part of the activities of board tours and discussions with the membership, in the context of designing a new model of cooperation between related parties and individuals, with the aim of strengthening social democratic and general civic thought in Montenegro," concluded the SD .
