The economic cooperation between Montenegro and Slovenia is significant, and there is a huge potential in the field of trade, tourism and investment, our excellent bilateral relations would be further strengthened by even more dynamic economic cooperation, said the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
As announced by the President's Public Relations Office, he and the President of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, opened the business forum of Montenegro and Slovenia, which is organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro.
"In his address to those present, he emphasized the importance of business cooperation with Slovenian companies, bearing in mind that these companies were among the first to invest in our country after gaining independence, especially in the banking and insurance sectors," the announcement reads.
Milatović also reminded that companies from Slovenia participated in the construction of one of the most important infrastructure projects - the Sozina tunnel, assessing that in this way they established high standards and significantly contributed to the development of our tourism.
He, as his Cabinet said, pointed out that such meetings are an opportunity to learn from the best, because Slovenia is the first country from the region to join the European Union, "the first to join the Eurozone and a country that is at the very top of Europe when is the index of the standard of living of its citizens."
He added that Slovenia is the best example that Montenegro should follow with dedicated work, strengthening of institutions and investment in knowledge, "this meeting represents the foundation for strengthening interstate cooperation and future intensive cooperation on the economic level."
