Huter: Đukanović called for the preservation of human dignity and an end to the demonization of political dissenters

The MP of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Oskar Huter says that the former president of that party and the country, Milo Đukanović, exclusively called for the protection of human dignity and an end to the demonization of political dissenters.

"Vijesti" announced today that the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica is investigating whether there are elements of a criminal offense in Đukanović's message that the latest arrests of former and current high-ranking state officials could result in revenge.

"The reaction of part of the media, the parapolitical NGO sector and the parliamentary majority in relation to the statements of the former president Đukanović represent a conscious malicious interpretation of his words with the aim of continuing to draw a target, which in the final should lead to his prosecution. According to the established matrix, the tabloids continue to write indictments and they persecute political dissidents in order to deal with them at any cost. What is more worrying is the reaction of the High Prosecutor's Office, which shows that the prosecution as a whole, instead of following positive legal legislation, continues to act according to the headlines of the yellow press," said Hutter.

"And just as Novović does not see anything objectionable in the dozens of criminal acts that were clearly committed in the previous three years, the High Prosecutor's Office apparently forgets the statements of Andrija Mandić, who called on his war comrades to dig up their weapons, and on Milan Knežević, who called the Parliament of Montenegro is set on fire. However, this kind of behavior will not obscure the essence of Đukanović's words, which exclusively called for the preservation of human dignity and the end of the demonization of political dissenters," the statement concludes.
