Last night in Budva, Democratic Montenegro submitted to the Municipal Election Commission (MEC) the electoral list "Strengthen, Renovate, Revive - Budva Decides" headed by the incumbent Đorđe Zenović and Dragan Kažanegro Stanišić, the party announced.
"The list consists of recognized women and men from Budva who have dedicated their lives and work to the development of their local administration, and the numerous signatures of support for this winning list, which were submitted to the Municipal Election Commission, show that this was recognized by the citizens. In front of the premises of the Budva Municipal Assembly , the candidate for councilors and the citizens of Budva were addressed by the list bearer Đorđe Zenović and said that the campaign will officially begin, which will last for a month. considered victorious, he confirmed, citing numerous reasons for that," said the Democrats.
"We have already held dozens of conversations with our fellow citizens, their reaction is excellent and undoubtedly points to a great election result that will surpass all previous ones. Our slogan is 'Budva decides', precisely in order to send the message that in previous years Budva it was not decided in Budva, and its citizens know that very well," Zenović pointed out.
He added that he will change that practice, and that Budva will be decided exclusively in Budva and by the people who know the city's problems best, and that the previous administration "collapsed like a house of cards precisely because they allowed the interests of Budva to be decided by informal and formal centers of power in Montenegro and the region".
"We will run an exclusively positive campaign, we will present our ideas and vision for the development of the city, but also our people who will be the backbone of the new government, which will finally be stable for four years, after which we will be able to boast about the renaissance we brought to Budva. Only Democrats in Budva have no officials under investigation by the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), and that is precisely why we can proudly send a message to the citizens that we will incorporate all our energy, integrity and knowledge into the public interest and progress of our city," Zenović concluded.
The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, has scheduled local elections in Budva for May 26.
