The FIRST Lego League Challenge competition organized by the NGO "Association of Young Innovators and Inventors of Montenegro" was successfully implemented in the elementary school "Novka Ubović", and 10 teams from four Montenegrin municipalities participated.

The FIRST Lego League Challenge, also known as FLL, is a program that introduces science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to children ages nine to 16 through fun and exciting hands-on learning. Participants gain experience solving real problems, contributing together with today's students and teachers to building a better future.

Judging of competitors focuses on four disciplines - core values, robot game, robot design and innovative project.

This season, under the name “MASTERPIECE 2023/2024”, the teams worked on their robotic solutions, but also on creating innovative ways to create and transmit art around the world. The best-placed KlariksMAX team from Elementary School "Dr. Dragiša Ivanović" earned the right to participate in the FIRST LEGO League Challenge Adria Final, which will be held on March 16, 2024 in Pucoci, Slovenia. Team "Phoenix" from Elementary School "Štampar Makarije" achieved the most points in even two categories - for the robot game and the best innovative project on the subject of MASTERPIECE.

The team that made the best robot design is "Game Shakers" from Elementary School "Kekec", while the best basic values were presented by the team "MonteBot" from Elementary School "Pavle Rovinski", which is the winner of the prize for Basic Values.

"Given that this is the first year after a long break that this program is implemented in Montenegro, we are satisfied with the response, and the plan for the 2024/2025 season. is to include more teams. Applications for the next season will start already at the beginning of April. As someone who used to deal with robotics through primary and secondary school and was a member of school teams, I am glad that this field is becoming more and more popular in schools and that interest in it is growing, and I hope that awareness of the importance of such programs will continue to spread." , Marko Šćepanović, one of the organizers and founder of the NGO "Association of Young Innovators and Inventors of Montenegro", told "Vijesta" after the competition.

Another one of the founders of the NGO "Association of Young Innovators and Inventors of Montenegro" who had the opportunity to participate in such competitions during his education is Aleksa Covic who is proud of the fact that the KlariksMAX team will participate in the competition in Slovenia in the middle of next month.

"In addition to the Finals of the Adriatic region, the goal is that in the following seasons, Montenegro will have its representative at European tournaments and perhaps at the world finals," Čović reveals his plans.
