At today's session, the government, on the proposal of the Ministry of Culture and Media, adopted the Decision on the formation of the National Council for Culture and the Decision on the formation of the National Commission for UNESCO.
In the Decision on the Education of the National Council for Culture, it is stated that the president of that body is the Minister of Culture and Media Maša Vlaović, while the members are violinist Roman Simović, guitarist Miloš Karadaglić, painter Ilija Šoškić, director and screenwriter Vlatko Gilić, writer Ognjen Spahić, director Lidija Dedović , director, and arranger and composer Janko Nilović.
Members of the Council are also prof. of Montenegrin language and literature Aleksandra Vuković, writer Andrej Nikolaidis, visual artist Milena Mijović Durutović, painter Rajko Todorović Todor, director and writer Teona Strugar, museologist Nemanja Čavlović, writer Branko Banjević, as well as diplomats Branko Perović and Miodrag Lekić.
The mandate of the president and members of the National Council lasts four years.
It is envisaged that the National Council for Culture: monitors and analyzes the state of culture in Montenegro, gives guidelines for the creation and determination of cultural policy, gives proposals for the development and improvement of certain areas and activities of culture, gives opinions, remarks and suggestions on strategic documents and development programs culture.
Also, it is foreseen that the Council will propose measures to improve interdepartmental cooperation, as well as to consider the state of international cultural cooperation and the presentation of Montenegrin culture and propose measures for their improvement.
In the Decision on the formation of the National Commission for UNESCO, it is stated that the president of that body is the Minister of Culture and Media Maša Vlaović, and that the members are the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ranko Krivokapić, the Minister of Economic Development and Tourism Goran Đurović, the Minister of Science and Technological Development Biljana Šćepanović, the Ambassador of Montenegro Up in France, Ivan Ivanišević, acting director of the Administration for the Protection of Cultural Property, Mladen Zagarčanin.
Members of the National Commission for UNESCO are the director of the Environmental Protection Agency Milan Gazdić, acting assistant director of the Administration for the Protection of Cultural Property Petra Zdravković, anthropologist Milica Nikolić, B.Sc. architectural engineer Biljana Gligorić, associate professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Montenegro Veljko Radulović, assistant professor at the Maritime Faculty of UCG Stevan Kordić, associate professor at the Faculty of Architecture of UCG Slavica Stamatović-Vučković, assistant professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of UCG Adnan Prekić and designer and costume designer Tijana Todorović.
It is envisaged that the tasks of the Commission are to coordinate and improve the activities and cooperation of ministries and state bodies and institutions responsible for the adoption and implementation of measures and activities of Montenegro within the framework of cooperation with UNESCO, enabling the establishment of a direct connection between UNESCO and educational, scientific and cultural institutions and organizations of civil society in Montenegro and determines priorities and effective methods in terms of development and strengthening of cooperation between Montenegro and UNESCO.
"Among the tasks of the Commission are to participate in the preparation, execution and evaluation of UNESCO programs and projects in Montenegro and to inform the Government of Montenegro about the goals and activities of UNESCO and continuously monitor and analyze the implementation of the proposed measures," the PR center announced.
