Until the revision study of the protected area "Đalovića Klisura" from 1968, when this jewel of nature was protected as a natural asset, there were no serious changes in terms of its protection.

This is precisely why the revision of the study of the protected natural asset "Đalovića Gorge" was carried out by the Environmental Protection Agency, about which a public hearing was organized yesterday in BIjelo Polje.

One of the organizers of the study in front of the Agency Vasilije Bušković reminded that the discussion is part of the procedure that began with the submission of the Municipality's initiative to the Environmental Protection Agency.

"After the public discussion, the Municipality should prepare and make a decision on the declaration, that is, on the revision of that protected area, where the boundaries of the protection zone are proposed, and to implement it by appointing a manager," said Bošković.

Secretary of the Secretariat for Rural and Sustainable Development Jasmin Ćorović he reminded that it is a topic that captures the public's attention, especially in recent years.

"Given that only a few years after the protection of the Đalovića gorge, the Đalovića cave itself, i.e. the cave above Vražji firovi, was discovered, and according to the Law on Nature Protection, if there is any change within the protected natural property, a review of the protected natural property must be initiated ", said Ćorović, adding that it should have been done in a previous period as well.

Nevertheless, according to Ćorović, it is not too late now and it is important to carry out a protection study in order to adequately protect this pearl of nature not only in Bijelo Polje but also in the wider area.

Study manager in front of the Agency, botanist Zlatko Bulic, said that this is a big ecological day for the municipality of Bijelo Polje and something that should be given real emphasis, reminding that it was the day after the first Law on Nature Protection was passed in 1961, when the declaration of certain objects as protected nature objects began, the Đalovića gorge recognized as an extremely interesting post not only in the area of the municipality of Bijelo Polje, but also in Montenegro and the immediate surroundings.

"Montenegro, as a relatively small country in terms of surface area, is extremely rich in natural specificities, values and has a large number of protected natural objects, five national parks, a large number of nature parks, natural monuments and protected plant species. When the Đalovića gorge was protected as a natural asset in 1968, an idea was already shown that this area should be given due attention, because the Đalovića gorge together with its catchment Bistrica in Bjelo Polje deserves special attention", he said, stressing that the time is coming when states will , and therefore Montenegro, should be appreciated for the extent to which they have protected their nature and biodiversity.

In the study, Bulić assessed, the emphasis is on what is objectively the most important and best preserved in that area, which is the part that is connected to the gorge and the part that represents the speleological Eldorado, which for a long time was unknown not only in Montenegro but also in the wider region. to the public.

"The main reason why it is proposed to place this area under protection is the value of nature and what is most important, that natural environment, biodiversity, certain types of biodiversity that are internationally significant," said Bulić.

In the third zone, the construction of buildings that pollute nature, i.e. all buildings that irritate the waste water system, is prohibited. In the second zone, fishing is prohibited, except for the "catch and release" system, which does not apply to the period of complete prohibition from October 1 to May 1, and hunting is also prohibited.
