The construction of the Komarnica Hydroelectric Power Plant (HE) would submerge the canyon of the river of the same name, which preserves relict species even from the last ice age of the planet, and the initiative to save the only remaining refuge for wild water fish was once again supported by numerous famous artists of the art scene - Rade Šerbedžija, Darko Rundek . - Grandfather, Mirko Vlahović, duo "Kumara" - Srđan Stanojević Dido and Miodrag Miga Manerik.
"I am sending you greetings to Montenegro from this divine place, untouched nature, from the Lim channel, next to Rovinj. Between Rovinj and Pula. Shellfish are grown here, everything is ecological, clean, beautiful here. I am sending you greetings not to give Komarnica. Yes don't give away that clean river, because everything that is happening around us is terrible and horrible. This world is also going to the mother of God, and only those fish from five, six, seven thousand years ago, who sought their salvation in that clean river, can save us to the river. Don't let that hydropower plant be built, don't give that purity and nature," said Šerbedžija.
Civic and environmental activists who oppose the turbines on the Komarnica River will hold a protest and educational camp under the slogan "Think Bistro" from April 28 to May 2, whose goal is to preserve that river and promote the potential of Šavnik and Plužine for the development of outdoor centers and rural tourism. .
"With knowledge and example, we defend Komarnica", is the message of the organizer of the protest camp that starts tomorrow.
The second day of the camp is reserved for - an active day and citizen science, and on April 30 there is a fair of local products, a meeting of the initiative "Defend the rivers of the Balkans" and an art workshop.
Actor Velizar Vejo Kasalica, Rundek & Ekipa's concert, for which Azilanti will perform as opening act, will contribute to the defense of Komarnica on May 1.
The river, which is being defended by civic and environmental activists, was nominated for the EMERALD protected area, and the UNESCO commission proposed and was proposed by the UNESCO commission for the affiliation of Durmitor National Park, thus gaining the status of World Heritage.
Precisely because of this, the greats of the art scene sent video messages of support for the defense of that incredibly beautiful river.
"Let's defend Komarnica, so that they don't put it in a pipe. It's not all electricity, there is something called life. But pasaran," said Vlahović.
