From July 12 to 16, an educational and recreational camp will be held at Margita, Sinjajevina, under the slogan "Everyone in Sinjajevina". The camp is organized for the third time by the civil initiative "Save Sinjajevina", and the participants will have the opportunity to learn about the mountain, life on the katuns, activism and ecology.
The camp begins on July 12 at noon with a traditional Petrovdan celebration with a rich folklore program and a traditional meal. In the afternoon, those who camp for the first time, or who do not know how to set up a tent, will receive training.
"In the sequel, they are expected to report on Sinjajevina, while in the later hours, a dance party will take place. On the very next day, there will be workshops that will remind the attendees of the tradition, but also better familiarize them with the benefits of Sinjajevina, so we will have traditional bread making and baking, getting to know the plants of our mountain and a tea party, making kačamak... For all those who like to walk followed by a tour of Sava Lake. This tour is easy. Films are being made about our beauty, and Sinjajevina will be presented as a movie star by the film's authors," the announcement reads.
The third day of the camp is reserved for education in the field of mountain orientation and mountaineering rules, and they will have the opportunity to demonstrate the practical application of what they have learned by climbing Jablanov vrh (2203 masl).
"The topics we will also deal with through the educational part are: Montenegro - a real environmental story or a populist delusion, Sinjajevina from your point of view, Why we must preserve Sinjajevina and Komarnica, Ecological movements in Montenegro and the Balkans. And we will end this day of the camp with a traditional dance", announce the organizers.
The day before departure, camp participants will have the opportunity to make flower wreaths, but also to participate in karaoke in the evening.
"Taught by good previous experience, this year we are increasing the number of places for participants, which can be up to 50. And this year's camp will have a regional and global dimension, so colleagues and friends from the region and the world will join us in Sinjajevina," reads the press release for the public.
Registration for the camp is mandatory, and can be done by sending the application to the email address sinjajevina.kamp@gmail.com by July 5, and upon registration, participants will receive all the necessary information and instructions.
