Residents of the villages of Godinje, Zabes, Seoca and Krnjica, as well as Virpazar itself and Murić from the local community of Šestani, today blocked traffic on the regional road over Sutorman for two hours on the stone bridge.
They gathered as a sign of protest because of the traffic chaos and, as they said - the complete dysfunctionality of that place in the summer tourist season, the inaction of the local community, but also of other state bodies, Feral from Bar reports.
"These are problems that have been bothering us for years, we constantly complain and no one turns their heads on us, from the Virpazar Crmnica Local Community, through the Municipality of Bar, to the state itself. You cannot pass through Virpazar, there is no regulation, neither traffic nor communal police For those of us who live in the part of Crmnica towards Krajina, life is bitter every season. This act of ours has no political background, but is aimed exclusively at the final resolution of this situation. If there is no adequate response from the authorities, our next move will be to block the highway," he said. on behalf of the demonstrators, Zoran Leković.
Marko Đurišić from Zabes emphasized, as reported by Feral, that the roots of the locals' dissatisfaction "are much deeper than the traffic chaos itself".
"The main problem here is the complete dysfunctionality of Virpazar in the summer season. I want to point out that we are not unique in this protest in Virpazar, because there are those, privileged ones, who like this kind of chaos and how it suits them, and all because the Municipality and the state do absolutely nothing to fix this situation," he said.
