On October 31, on World Cities Day, Cetinje was among 55 new urban entities from around the world that joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN).

On this occasion, the Civic Movement URA announced that it was a "great opportunity for Cetinje" and "additional motivation" for the further development of the capital.

"Cetinje is the only city from the Western Balkans in the creative dimension of 'Design' and thus became, along with Žabljak and Kotor, another city in Montenegro that has an institutional connection with UNESCO, to the joy of all citizens," announced the councilor of the Civic Movement URA to Cetinje Jovana Radović, saying that Cetinje is the historical and cultural center of Montenegro.

He reminds that the Network of Creative Cities was formed in 2004, in order to initiate international cooperation within and between cities around the world that are sustainably developing thanks to culture and creativity as strategic links.

"This network now includes 350 cities in more than a hundred countries, and these cities are symbols of folk art, design, gastronomy, craftsmanship... This is a great opportunity for Cetinje, as well as additional motivation for the further development of our city - in the field of culture and urban of development", concluded Radović.
