The locals of Virpazar are unhappy because the place where there was a pharmacy five years ago is now being renovated for the construction of apartments. That space shares the entrance with the infirmary in Virpazar.
The source of "Vijesti" from the Virpazar clinic said that no one formally informed them about the construction of the apartment in their entrance, and that they learned about it from the former owners of the space, who sold it to a new one, who, as they claim, started renovating the space in order to apartment building.
"For all my years in the profession, I have never seen in my life that a health care facility divides the entrance behind the apartments," he said.
The people of Crmni are negatively surprised by this decision and action because they have not had a pharmacy for five years, and they have approached the Ministry of Health several times about this.
In the letter that the people of Crmni once again addressed to that ministry, which "Vijesti" had access to, they ask for help in opening a pharmacy.
"There are about 1.200 people living in the Crmnica area. People of different ages, but mostly older patients with various chronic diseases. In the summer, the number of residents increases due to the return of patients from Podgorica and Bar to their homes. Virpazar is also a tourist center, which is visited by a large number of people every day during the season tourists from different countries. All these people need medicines, first aid, and personal hygiene products. Previously, there was a pharmacy in Virpazar and everyone was satisfied," the letter states.
It is further stated that the pharmacy was closed five years ago and that everyone has a problem with buying medicines.
"Patients should go to Bar or Podgorica. Many do not have their own transport or due to illness they cannot go to get their medicines themselves. Please help us to open a pharmacy that will work with prescription and over-the-counter medicines", the written request of the people of Crmnič reads. .
That letter has four pages of personal signatures of people from Crmnič who supported the appeal.
This is not the first time that residents of Crmnica and Virpazar have addressed the Ministry of Health, but, as they told "Vijesti", they have been doing so for five years, since the pharmacy was closed. Despite this, they received no response.
