The Đalovića gorge, located in the upper course of the Bistrica river, is not only a natural treasure of the municipality of Bijelo Polje, but also of the whole of Europe, the non-governmental organization (NGO) Eko-team announced today.
"Thanks to the initiative of the non-governmental organizations Eko-team and The Nature Conservancy, as well as the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Ecology, Sustainable Development and Development of the North, the Municipality of Bijelo Polje initiated the revision procedure of the declaratively protected area of Đalovića Gorge from 2022 in 1968", it is emphasized. in the announcement of the Eco-team.
The NGO added that the goal of this process is to improve the management of the protected area, which they say will contribute to the preservation of its exceptional natural values.
"Đalovića Gorge, with its imposing landscapes, rich biodiversity and untouched nature, is not only an ecological, but also a cultural and historical treasure. This review process is a key step towards making Đalovića Gorge a symbol of Bijelo Polje and ensuring efficient and effective management of this area, with the aim of preserving the value of this gorge as well as stimulating socio-economic activities in accordance with the principles of nature protection. The revision of this protected area is crucial in order to preserve it as a symbol of the natural heritage of Bijelo Polje," says Milija Čabarkapa, executive director of the NGO Eco-team. .
The NGO said that with this process, the Đalovića gorge is not only protected, but also put into focus as a key destination for ecotourism.
The Eco-team stated that through improved management, green infrastructure should be developed that will allow visitors to fully experience and appreciate the unique nature of the gorge, while at the same time ensuring its protection and preservation for future generations.
"In addition, the Đalovića Gorge has the potential to improve the local economy, attracting tourists from all over the world who are looking for an authentic natural experience. This will contribute to the development of local communities, creating new opportunities for employment and sustainable development.
