The foundation stone for the construction of the luxury tourist complex "Otrant Reefs" on the Velika beach will be laid during the celebration of the Municipality Day, which this year is celebrated on April 6, "Vijesti" has learned.
The complex includes the renovation of the existing hotel and the construction of a new one of the highest category, as well as numerous other facilities and a promenade along Port Milena.
Since the end of the last century, Ulcinj has been celebrating the first Saturday of April as the Municipal Day, which symbolizes the end of the olive harvest, the departure of sailors to the ships and the beginning of the season.
The company "Argos" from Ulcinj, which is an investor, previously received the approval of the chief state architect for the conceptual design of the tourist resort "Otrant Reef Resort". The architectural studio "Next Level" from Ulcinj was in charge of creating the solution.
In a recent interview with "Vijesta", the President of the Municipality Omer Bajraktari announced that the construction of at least one elite 5-star hotel will begin this year. He said that it is the "Otrant" hotel, which will have five stars.
"Investors have finished everything. The construction application was completed in December, approved by the competent inspection. Now they are waiting for environmental approval from the agency. It is an investment worth 50 million euros. "Preparatory work has begun, but not the main work," said Bajraktari at the time.
According to "Vijesti" information, the local government will announce a number of other significant investments during the Municipality Day celebration, the realization of which can be expected soon.
"The reconstruction of Mujo Ulčinaku Street, the former Ivan Milutinović Street, from the intersection for the Albatros Hotel and the former Galeb Hotel to the Prva banka has already been announced. That investment is worth 750 euros, and its implementation should begin soon," said an interlocutor from the Municipality to "Vijesta".
He stated that the preparation of the event marking program is still in progress, but it is known that the representatives of the local government will ceremoniously open the parking lot near the Municipality and the Solidarity building.
"Vijesti" also announced that on the Municipal Day, a contract on the construction of the main project of the city stadium at the beginning of Velika plaža will be solemnly signed.
The local government plans to soon arrange the sports fields in Valdanos and to pave the road in the olive grove there that was previously opened by the army. The opening of an info point in Šas is also planned soon...
Also, Bajraktari announced that by the Municipality Day, a large part of the streets in the city, excavated due to the execution of works on the realization of two important infrastructure projects of water supply and wastewater disposal, worth 25 million euros, will be asphalted.
On Ulcinj Day, a ceremonial session of the local parliament and a series of cultural, artistic and sports and entertainment events will be held.
