Last year, the ministers of health, sports and human and minority rights earned an average of around 1.700 euros for regular work.

This results from their property records, published on the website of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (AKS).

Minister of Health Vojislav Šimun reported to the ASK that in November last year, for the first month of his mandate, he received around 1.705 euros, and in December 1.636 euros. Šimun is a member of the Government Council for Privatization and Capital Projects, the Commission for Economic Policy and the Financial System, and the Council for Innovation and Smart Specialization, in which he does not receive compensation for his work, while in December he received a compensation of one hundred euros for membership in the Social Council of Montenegro.

Until the end of October last year, when he was appointed Minister of Health, Šimun worked at the Clinical Center of Montenegro, where he received 1.350 euros for regular work.

The Minister of Health is the owner of a 70-square-meter apartment that he bought, and he pays back the housing loan of 90.000 euros in monthly installments of about 560 euros. He did not give consent to the Agency for inspection of bank accounts.

Minister of Sports and Youth and Deputy Prime Minister for Demography and Youth Dragoslav Šcekić he received around 1.852 euros in November and around 1.776 euros in December based on that position. Previously, during 2023, as the Minister of Health in the 43rd Government, he earned 1.717 euros. As a member of the Government Council for Privatization and Capital Projects, he received an additional 125 euros per month.

In Šćekić's property record, it is written that he is the owner of the apartment that he acquired by purchase, and that he pays back the housing loan of 85.000 in monthly installments of around 513 euros. He also has a cash loan of 3.000 euros, for which he pays monthly installments of 260 euros.

Minister of Human and Minority Rights Fatmir Đeka he earned 1.776,80 euros per month last year.

In the annual report on income and assets, it is stated that he owns a house of 180 square meters that he bought on credit, and he also owns an inherited house, forest and pasture.

Šćekić and Đeka gave consent to ASK for inspection of bank accounts.

A few days ago, KAS reminded officials of the obligation to submit income and asset reports by March 31. It was reported that in Montenegro there are almost 8.000 public officials and civil servants who declare assets based on the provisions of the Law on Prevention of Corruption and special laws on internal affairs, tax administration, customs service, public bailiffs and notaries.

"By March 20, about 2.000 property documents were submitted. Recognizing the practice from earlier years, when the majority of reports arrived in the final days of the deadline, which complicated the work of its competent departments to a considerable extent and jeopardized compliance with the deadlines set by the law, the Agency calls on those legally obligated not to wait for the deadline to fulfill their obligations," it was announced from ASK.

They said that the timely submission of reports on income and assets supports the strengthening of integrity in the performance of public functions and helps KAS to perform its legal function more efficiently.

Marković does not provide insight into bank accounts

Supreme State Prosecutor Milorad Marković reported to KAS, in a report to be submitted within 30 days from the day of assuming office, that he saved around 102 euros. In the report, he stated that he had around 587 euros in his current account.

He is the owner of a house and construction land that he received as a gift, and he also owns inherited meadows, fields and forests. Marković did not give his consent to ASK to access data on his bank accounts.
