In the apartments of the capital city, instead of the socially vulnerable, functionaries of the former government, employees of the local self-government, lived, and there are doubts that some of them were given to family members of "deserving citizens", it was announced from the capital city of Podgorica.
"The Secretariat for Social Welfare, in accordance with Article 26 of the Decision on the manner of use and the price of renting apartments allocated to persons in a state of social need, has started the review of the rights based on the lease of the apartment and determines all the circumstances that have an impact on the termination or scope of the rights. After collecting complete data and carrying out After discussions with a certain number of users, representatives of the Secretariat will, for each of the apartments that are not used for their intended purpose, ask the tenants to voluntarily vacate the apartment from persons and things, and in the opposite case, they will initiate the procedure for forced eviction," the statement of the Capital City points out.
They added that so far, when the representatives of the Secretariat for Social Welfare went out to the field, it was found that a number of tenants had resolved the housing issue and continued to live in the apartment, that they found people in the apartment to whom the apartment was sublet - because the tenants resolved housing issue or living with relatives and that certain persons illegally moved into apartments in the Capital City.
"After refusing to voluntarily clear the apartment of persons and belongings, the Secretariat initiated the procedure for forced eviction with the competent authority for these persons. In the following period, procedures will be initiated for other persons who continue to illegally use the apartments of the Capital City. That it is completely chaotic the state of the property records also shows that the determination of ownership of some of the apartments was due to unpaid utility bills that came to the Capital City for collection. However, the worst of all is that socially vulnerable persons were not in opportunities to use the apartments that were intended for them. In addition to the apartments that were used, there are those in which a large amount of waste was found or were torn down and destroyed," the statement of the Capital City reads.
They also said that the apartments for the needs of officials of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) who held responsible positions in the capital city were renovated by the city services and all at the expense of the citizens.
