The Monteput company donated an Audi A4 Quattro interceptor car to the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) and the Police Directorate (UP).
This is stated, among other things, in the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in which they said that on the plateau in front of the Command Center in Pelevo Brijeg, the executive director of Monteput, Milan Ljiljanić, handed the keys to the vehicle to the acting assistant director of the Police Administration, Dragan Gorović.
"It is a vehicle with high safety, technical and driving characteristics worth 49,400 euros. The vehicle - the so-called interceptor, is equipped with the necessary light and sound signaling as well as radar devices for recording traffic violations. The prescribed technical characteristics of the vehicle relate to achieving acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in a maximum of eight seconds, and a maximum speed of 240 km/h, which is essential for a quick and efficient response in emergency situations The goal is better control and monitoring of road traffic, with a special emphasis on controlling the speed of vehicles on the highway," the announcement reads.
Ljiljanić said that safety on the highway and raising awareness of compliance with traffic rules is their priority.
"By acquiring this vehicle, Monteput, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Police Administration, is improving operational capacities for quick and efficient response in situations that require emergency interventions. The vehicle's specifications were selected in cooperation with colleagues from the police in order to ensure the best conditions for the performance of police tasks," said Ljiljanić.
The vehicle will be used by the Police Directorate, while the maintenance and fuel costs will be borne by Monteput.

"This valuable donation will significantly contribute to the improvement and improvement of traffic safety on the highway and to a large extent facilitate the work and contribute to achieving better results of the work of the traffic police when controlling drivers and vehicles on the highway, all for the purpose of traffic safety and the protection of life and health and property of all highway users. It is certainly our wish that the police officers use the given vehicle as little as possible when recording and sanctioning the perpetrators of traffic violations on the highway, but if there is a need for this, the donated vehicle will enable the police officers to do so in a legal and efficient manner. With this donation, as it has done several times before, Monteput has proven itself as a socially responsible company that contributes to the general betterment and prosperity of all citizens of Montenegro,'' said Gorović.
The MUP stated that the most common offense on the highway is speeding
"Through which, unscrupulous drivers put themselves and other road users in danger, and often destroy state property. Since the opening of the highway, 4.012.377 vehicles have passed through the route, while 77 traffic accidents have occurred, that is, less than 1 traffic accident per week "There were no fatalities in those traffic accidents, seven people were seriously injured, while 21 people suffered minor injuries," they concluded.
