The non-governmental organization "Equivalent" organizes an event called "Festival of Human Rights", on Sunday, April 28, from 18:0 p.m. to 20:XNUMX p.m. in the premises of the Podgorica Museum and Gallery.
"At this event, the premiere performance of a theater performance in which the main actors are people with disabilities is planned, which will be followed by the performance of recitations with musical accompaniment by a mixed musical group made up of people with and without disabilities, while in the final part, a photo exhibition will be presented within which will be pointed out to the various forms of discrimination that persons with disabilities face on a daily basis. The goal of organizing this event is to raise the level of awareness of the general public about respect for the human rights of persons with disabilities," the announcement states.
The event is organized as part of the implementation of the project "Festival of Human Rights", which the NGO "Equivalent" realizes in partnership with the non-governmental organizations "Organization of the Blind for Bar and Ulcinj" and the Cultural Center "Homer". The project is supported by the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights within the public competition "Protection of persons with disabilities from discrimination and promotion of equality."
The project aims to point out "different forms of discrimination against persons with disabilities through artistic representation in the form of theatrical performances, photo exhibitions, dance and musical performances by persons with and without disabilities with the aim of raising the level of awareness and knowledge of the public about respect for the rights of persons with disabilities, without discrimination in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities", the announcement states.
