Acting Director of ACV with the European top of aviation

The civil aviation system ensures stable safety and security of air traffic in Montenegro, said acting director of the Civil Aviation Agency (ACV) Ivan Šćekić, after discussions with high-ranking representatives of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the European Commission in charge of that area.

As reported by the Civil Aviation Agency, Šćekić participated this week in the meeting of civil aviation directors of ICAO European and North Atlantic region (EUR/NAT) member states in Toulouse, France.

As they said, he also had important talks in Paris, where he was at the annual meeting of general directors organized by the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC).

He discussed current affairs in the Montenegrin aviation with Nikolas Ralo, the first man of the regional activities of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Europe, Central Asia, the Maghreb and the North Atlantic, as well as the possibilities of meeting in Montenegro.

At a meeting with Filip Kornelis, director of aviation in the European Commission (Directorate General for Mobility and Transport - DG MOVE), Šćekić suggested that Podgorica could host the next meeting of the Joint Committee of the ECAA Agreement (Multilateral Agreement on the Creation of a Common European Aviation Area).

Among the main topics at the international meeting in Toulouse, France, was the training and development of a new generation of aviation experts, activities aimed at environmental protection, as well as strengthening the resilience of the aviation system.

"At the Montenegrin Agency for Civil Aviation, we pay attention to the fact that employees are constantly educated and perfected, following the development of civil aviation in the world," said Šćekić, who, as he points out, has significant experience in that field.

The environment was an important topic at the annual meeting in Paris, along with new developments in air traffic regulations. The traffic forecast for the summer season was presented and it was pointed out that everyone must work hard to avoid flight cancellations and delays during the season.
