The Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje opened an investigation into the interference with the correspondent of Television Vijesti Alisa Hajdarpašić during the events of April 14, when she was reporting on the police search of the family's home Zoran Lazović.

"The investigation procedure was initiated after this morning the journalist gave a statement before the prosecutor at the Bijelo Polje Police Department. She repeated the statement given to the police, in which she described the incident and mentioned Vladan Kovačević and Sakib Chindrak as persons who hindered her in her work", announced the general secretary of the Association of Professional Journalists of Montenegro (DPNCG). Mila Radulović.

Former official of the intelligence sect, Zoran Lazović, was arrested on April 14, by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), and the newsroom sent the correspondent to follow the police activities in Orahovica, where his family home is. On that occasion, as she said, she was harassed and insulted by a group of people - especially Vladan Kovačević and Sakib Čindrak.

In her statement to the prosecutor, as well as to the police previously, the journalist said that she felt threatened and unsafe because those persons showed aggression and physically prevented her from doing her job, the statement states.

"She said that Vladan Kovačević, who is also a local official in the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, tried to prevent her from recording, that Sakib Čindrak pushed her, not allowing her to record the police action on the phone, and harassing her on the basis of gender. Both claimed that was not legitimized, and that it is on private property," says Radulović.

The journalist said that she duly showed her accreditation to TV Vijesta when she arrived, as well as that she was on a public road, and reminded the gathered that she has the right to film an event of public importance.

"After the incident, due to which she was unable to complete her work assignment, the journalist turned to a doctor due to the fear and stress she suffered, after previously giving a statement to the Security Department," adds Radulović.

DPNCG provides legal support to journalist Hajdarpašić, so the lawyer will Veselin Radulović to be her legal advisor and monitor the proceedings.

"Legal support was made possible thanks to the financial support of the European Union, through the EU Delegation in Pogorica, and with the partnership of the DPNCG with the NGO UZOR and the German Hans Sejdel Foundation," the announcement states.
