Citizen education is a key driver of the transition to the concept of zero waste, as they pointed out and added that it is necessary to continuously organize educational campaigns that would encourage the participation of citizens and invite local entrepreneurs and the civil sector to offer solutions that would direct their engagement on the zero waste plan.

They identified the reduction of the use of disposable products in households and the prevention of waste generation in catering facilities as the biggest challenges.
