Sergio Ljulj is 30 years old, behind him is a serious injury, because of which he missed almost the entire last season.
Emotionally and professionally tied to Real, one of the best European basketball players still has an open door in the NBA.
Back in 2009, Houston paid 2,5 million dollars to ensure that Ljulj, if he decided to leave Europe, would have no other option but to come to the Rockets.
They selected him as the 34th pick in the draft that year and didn't give up on him.
"Arvidas Sabonis came to the NBA at the age of 31, why not Ljulj," said Houston general manager Daryl Morey.
Ljulj was recently chosen as the best player who does not play in the strongest league in a survey in which all general managers of NBA clubs took part.
"I came to Real when I was 19 years old, this is my home, I don't want to be anywhere else," Ljulj said in his last interview.
