Loans and injuries are in the past - Jovan Kljajić will get a new chance next season in the team that won the European Cup.
Gran Canaria decided to extend the contract with the drunk basketball player, announced the club from Las Palmas.
After talking with the leaders of the club from the Canary Islands, "Granka" coach Jaka Lakovič decided to keep Kljajić, so a contract was signed with the occasional member of the Montenegrin national team until 2025.
Kljajić has been a member of Gran Canaria since 2016, he played for the younger selections of this team, and he spent one year on loan at the Lithuanian club Prijenaji.
During the last season, in which he had problems with injury, he played 14 games in the Engesa League and ten in the Eurocup.
As the winner of the Eurocup, Gran Canaria had the right to play in the Euroleague, but due to the remoteness of the Canary Islands and financial reasons, they gave up on the elite, so next season they will defend the trophy in the second strongest competition on the Old Continent.
