Nikola Peković, president of the Basketball Association of Montenegro, said that the president of the KSCG Assembly, Radoslav Jovanović, misled the public and that he did not schedule the Assembly "because of obstruction, for personal reasons, fear, pressure", as he states, only he knows why.
In a statement sent to "Vijesti", Peković reacted to Jovanović's address yesterday regarding the failure to schedule the KSCG Assembly.

"First of all, I apologize to the public for addressing you again and for the length of the answer before you, but for the sake of truth, and for the sake of complete familiarization with the facts, I was forced to respond in this form and in this way to the information presented to the public, and in response to my previous announcement.
Whether there was a conflict or not within the KSCG, it seems that the president of the Assembly of the KSCG knows more about it, or at least knows something more than what is publicly available, which would indicate that it can be characterized as a conflict.

However, the fact that the meeting and the previous Assembly are called a conflict, and I can accept it, but I will not and do not want to accept that the confirmation of my valid mandate as president of the KSCG, whether everyone liked it or not, was brought to the responsible persons as an epilogue and bodies of the Association, the lack of reason, will, sportsmanship and dignity in implementing what the regulations of the sports organization that is home to all of us dictate, and that from June of this year until today, the Assembly of the Basketball Association of Montenegro has not been scheduled, in order to elect members of the Board of Directors and creating conditions for normal functioning.
By not scheduling the Assembly, you blocked important decisions regarding sports and basketball, the timely start of the new basketball season, the adoption of rules and norms for the work of each individual club in Montenegro, the planning of the budget and all accompanying activities for the following year, and therefore the plans and preparations for representative activities at all levels. Out of respect, both for your age and for your personality and profession, I will use a polite vocabulary and say that you have, at the very least, misled the public with your answer.
First, regarding my request to hold an extraordinary Assembly of the KSCG, which you said was dated September 15, 09. You're right, you just overlooked that it's the second request in line. The first, as you know, is dated June 2023, 19. So three months before that. Also, 06. year, I sent you an urgent notice in the form of a note and a warning for the necessity of scheduling the Assembly, all because of the opinions received in the meantime by the Ministry of Sports of Montenegro and the Directorate for Inspection Supervision, in which they order us and foresee sanctions against the Association and the responsible persons for non-execution of the ordered and failure to form the governing body of a sports organization. Each of the listed dates and documents are exact and verifiable.
In the same way, to say that I - who have been advocating for the scheduling of the Assembly and the formation of all bodies for months - 'did not respond', as stated, and to know that I am in multiple telephone conversations with you, both during it and in the days before it , said that then due to personal health reasons I will not be able to attend, it does not suit this topic, nor the sports institution we represent, nor good taste and upbringing. In the most polite way.
The facts are as follows:
The President of the KSCG Assembly, whatever his name and surname and whoever he is, is obliged to schedule the KSCG Assembly on the initiative of the President of the Basketball Association of Montenegro, the Management Board, 1/3 of the clubs or the President of the Assembly himself. And that is the only truth, as is the truth that there was more than one initiative and dozens of conversations, without you scheduling it. Because of obstruction, for personal reasons, fear, pressure - only you know why. But the epilogue is that the organization of which you are the organ and one of the representatives as the President of the KSCG Assembly is disabled.
Next, the President of the Basketball Association of Montenegro and the Board of Directors of the Basketball Association of Montenegro are bodies of the KSCG. Each for himself, within one organization. Their mandates are separate, not collective. The President is elected and dismissed separately, as is the Board of Directors. Also, you should know, as the president of the KSCG Assembly, that the president of the Basketball Association is by function the president and a member of the Board of Directors. Therefore, everything is defined and additionally, due to various doubts, confirmed by the opinion of the competent authorities, therefore it is not and must not be interpreted and used according to personal discretion or interest, but according to the laws, statutes and documents of this country, with which you were familiar timely.
Likewise, you should know that the category of 'Board of Directors in a technical mandate', which you mention, does not exist in the Statute of the sports organization of which you are the President of the Assembly, so that you could refer to it. The mandate of the former Board of Directors expired in January 2023. So, more than eight months ago.
The reason, the basis, the initiative for the election of a new Supervisory Board and calling you as the President of the Assembly to schedule that election seems to be a surprise only to you and is not obvious and clear enough.
There are many surprises for me too, unfortunately bad ones, because of everything mentioned above, but believe me, there is plenty of readiness for the right one.
I understand ambitions, I respect age, I respect habits and wishes, I respect the contribution and experience of each individual in the sports organization that I lead, just as voluntarily as the president of the KSCG Assembly said about himself. I respect all of that. But for it to be above and more important than the Federation, than sports, than basketball - it's a lot.
But, even after everything, I once again call on all clubs, all sports workers, members of the KSCG Assembly, the competent ministry, the Government of the Republic of Montenegro, to see, help, sanction, direct, do everything and let's all do everything to raise the Basketball Association of Montenegro on its feet, and sports and basketball will once again be the guiding principle and the reason why the association exists as such, and not a base for the realization of personal interests," Peković said in the announcement.
