The Assembly of the Basketball Association of Montenegro ended today before it even started.
Due to the lack of quorum, there were no conditions for the work and voting of the new Board of Directors, which was practically the only item on the agenda.
On this occasion, the president of the KSCG, Nikola Peković, made an announcement, whose statement we are transcribing in its entirety:
"Today, as many times in recent times, we witnessed the degradation and abuse of sports and institutions, but also of all sports and human values. Behind-the-scenes actions, obstruction of law and justice, the Statute of the Federation, pressures through the lowest impulses, personal blackmail, and more a lot of things that do not belong to sports and basketball, about which decency prevents me from speaking and writing now, inspired me to address the public through this letter," Peković wrote and added:
"Once again today, sports and human anti-values obstructed and overshadowed the sincere wishes of the majority of basketball in Montenegro, its supporters, sports workers, basketball players and sympathizers, for fundamental and definitive changes in the umbrella basketball organization. The damage that the users of these methods do to Montenegrin basketball is immeasurable, but , in fact, only represents the weakness of those who use these methods".

"Unlike them, as a true sportsman, avoiding the trap of abusing the office to which I was legally elected, and which I will not privatize, I will again follow the path that guarantees success and fair play.
"Therefore, for the sake of the fastest possible exit of the Federation from the clutches of the personal interests of unfulfilled individuals, for whom the same interest is more important than general basketball progress, I hereby announce that I am launching an initiative to schedule a new, extraordinary and electoral assembly of the Federation, as soon as possible. For this opportunity, I will propose agenda that foresees the election of all bodies of the Union, including the position of president, for which I normally have a legal mandate for another two years".
The legendary basketball player concluded:
"For the sake of sports, basketball, the progress of all participants in the basketball process, from the youngest to the senior selections, girls, basketball players and boys, basketball players all over Montenegro, I will submit the same initiative to the president of the Assembly of KSCG as soon as possible".
