The Basketball Federation of Montenegro on its official website informed the public that a meeting of the Board of Directors is scheduled for Saturday, where important decisions should be made for the start of the club seasons. Soon after that, 32 Montenegrin clubs and the Association of Basketball Referees of Montenegro reacted, saying in a statement that the Management Board "de facto does not exist since January".
In a way, all this is a continuation of the "conflict" in KSCG, which even four days ago at the Assembly did not vote for a new Steering Committee due to lack of quorum.
The mentioned clubs say that the aforementioned information sheet misinforms the general public and therefore disappoints the KSCG.
"The fact that the 'Board of Directors' unlocks basketball is actually a classic substitution of theses. That 'Board of Directors' is written in quotation marks, given that it de facto does not exist since January. It is also paradoxical that in the meantime, its two member resigned, and that after their mandate expired!? Have you ever heard that someone can resign from a position they no longer hold," the clubs asked.
They add that it is extremely important to note that before the last extraordinary Assembly, they submitted the initiative to convene the Assembly as soon as possible, in order to elect a new Board of Directors and thus start the competitions.
"The initiative was signed by 33 clubs with 38 members. That's why we can't help but ask ourselves: Why didn't even 27 clubs that signed this initiative for the start of the league come to the Assembly with their representatives, so that we could elect a legitimate Board of Directors in the prescribed manner? This and this one The 'board', respected basketball workers, does not 'unlock basketball', the key is in your hands all the time, but you don't want to put it in the lock and turn it. Instead, you try to 'vampire' the 'UO' in this perfidious way, which has no legitimacy. With this, we all lose credibility together, but we also break the law," the announcement reads.

Also, as they say, before this whole mess, it must not be forgotten that the Sports Inspection twice ordered the President of the Assembly to convene a session, to which he, as they say, ignored both times.
"One more question for the 'unlockers of basketball' - please explain to us the reasons behind your attempts to force KK Ibar into the First League, which you, the former Board of Directors and General Secretary, eliminated from the competition due to debts while you were legitimate , and now you are returning it as an illegitimate body!? We cannot but interpret this as a decision aimed at realizing personal interests, and for the common good, as you tried to present in the statement," they conclude in the statement.
The aforementioned clubs also submitted the decision of sports inspector Ivan Todorović, who in the decision ordered the holding of the Assembly due to the election of the Board of Directors, whose mandate, according to his order, was set for January 11, 2023.
However, from the KSCG, without the knowledge of the KSCG president Nikola Peković, he appointed a Management Committee that has not existed for nine and a half months.
