The meeting of the Board of Directors of the Basketball Association, the body whose mandate expired in January, was held today in Podgorica.
Eight members, who were at the session, believe that regardless of the fact that their mandate has expired, the Management Board can function in a technical mandate, and they reminded that one session was already held in mid-April and that President Nikola Peković attended it.
Peković said two days ago that the meeting was called illegitimately, because according to the Statute, the meeting of the Board of Directors can only be called by the president.
In any case, the members of the Board of Directors, who, by the way, lead the trend that wants to change the president, made recommendations that basketball competitions begin on November 4, and that the registration of our younger selections for international competitions next year be ensured.
They invited Peković to call a meeting of the Board of Directors in the next three days, and to call an election assembly of the KSCG in three weeks, at which the new president and the new Board of Directors would be elected.
"When Nikola Peković realized that he did not have a majority against Igor Lukšić, he undermined the majority through the clubs and that Assembly was not organized. In the meantime, the Minister of Sports announced that he is in office, and we believe that he is not because his office has expired," he said. former KSCG president Veselin Barović and added:
"We received an answer only that Peković is in his mandate and nothing beyond that, without an explanation and that's where the circus starts. He wants to remain president by force, and we have no league, no financing, no sponsors. The November salary cannot be received, KSCG is in the red 300.000 euros".

"The senior calendar is threatened, we are waiting for the windows, we are waiting for the ABA league, but he is not interested in that. He terminated the sponsorship contract, he did not give reasons for it. We were the most respected association in Montenegro, and now we have come to the point where we are embarrassed. Pekovic does not it occurs to him to organize a meeting, so that the league can finally start. They are threatening people in Pljevlja and Nikšić, and they are talking about pressure from our side. I invite anyone who has something to say or who has experienced a threat from our side. We just want the alliance starts to work, because this is how we are rushing towards the downfall of our basketball," said Barović.
