The Euroleague playoffs have only just begun, and excitement is already brewing.
After Panatioaikos, Monaco and Barcelona lost home field advantage in the quarter-final matches.
Fenerbahçe won in Monte Carlo - after overtime with 95:91 (15:26, 22:20, 23:15, 21:20, 14:10) and thus took a 1:0 lead in the quarter-final series.
The Turkish team was led to victory by Nigel Hayes Davis with 19, Nick Kalates with 17 and Nate Sestina with 16 points. Tyler Dorsey contributed to the victory with 13 points, while Serbian basketball player Marko Gudurić scored 11 points.
In Monaco, Eli Okobo was the most effective with 19 points, followed by Mike James and Jordan Lloyd with 16 points each.
Monaco was in the lead for most of the game, but Fenerbahçe managed to come back in the end and reach a four-point advantage, and then through Gudurić missed the opportunity to win away from home (81:81).
In the additional five minutes, the Turkish team was better, which won that part of the game and thus made a break at the start of this quarterfinal series.
The second game is scheduled for Friday, and the host is Monaco again.
Olympiakos led almost the entire match against Barcelona, which only had the advantage in the second quarter on two occasions, at the end the celebration of the team from Piraeus - 77:75, and it was not quite as exciting as the result suggests.
The visitors had a 10-point advantage in the last quarter, the Catalans managed to get to -2, but not to make a turnaround.
Williams-Goss with 15 and Kenan with 14 points led the visitors, Hernangomez and Packer scored 13 each for Barcelona.
Home field advantage in the first quarter-final duels was defended only by Real Madrid, who were convincing at home against Baskonia on Tuesday.
