Montenegrin basketball players will play in Mexico City in pre-qualifications for Mundobasket, rivals in group B are Mexico, New Zealand and Mozambique, it was decided by draw.
Group A will be played in Mexico, which includes South Korea, Mali, the Czech Republic and Venezuela, while Brazil, Hungary, Senegal and the Philippines (group C) will compete in Rwanda, and Rwanda, Great Britain, Argentina and Lebanon in D to the group.
The pre-qualifications are scheduled from August 19 to 25, and the two best teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
The winners of the two tournaments qualify for the World Championship. 24 teams will participate in the qualification tournaments for Mundobasket, with the winners of the pre-qualification tournaments in Mexico and Rwanda and another 22 selections determined by the results at the FIBA continental competitions next year.
The World Cup will be played from September 4 to 13, 2026 in Berlin.
