Murcia basketball players defeated Peristeri (87:84) in Belgrade today and won third place in the FIBA Champions League.
The Spanish club won third place in this competition for the second time in its history, after finishing on the podium in 2018.
In the first quarter, Peristeri had a five-point advantage (8:3), but the rest of the match was spent in the leadership of Murcia, who had a nine-point advantage at halftime - 44:35.
Sit Alonso's team maintained the advantage, in the last quarter they had plus 11 (68:57), but Peristeri, after a point from Williams, three minutes to the end, came to minus two - 77:75. Then Murcia tied six points, went to 83:75 and preserved the victory.
Hakansson was the most effective player for Murcia with 22 points. Nemanja Radović had nine points and three rebounds, and Marko Todorović had eight points and two rebounds. Potential Montenegrin representative Johna Radebau finished the game with eight points. Blagota Sekulić is also in Murcia's coaching staff.
At Peristeri, Joe Ragland was the most effective with 24 points.
