Two weeks after reaching the jubilee, 400th victory in the Endesa League, Montenegrin coach Duško Ivanovic continues to push the boundaries in the Spanish championship.
On Saturday, in the 31st round, Baskonia beat Palencia away (101:94), and it was Ivanovic's 585th game in the Endesa League, so he overtook Gustavo Arancana in eighth place.
In first place is the undisputed legendary Aito García Reneses with 1.111 games in the ACB League. Second is Pedro Martines (1.012), and third is Luis Casimiro (757).
Duško Ivanović returned to Baskonia at the end of October last year. He led the team from Vitoria from 2000 to 2005, from 2008 to 2012 and from 2019 to 2021.
Baskonia was the champion of Spain three times with Ivanovic (2002, 2010 and 2020), and won the Cup three times (2002, 2004 and 2009).
This season, with three rounds to go, the Spanish club is in ninth place with two points less than Manresa, which is in the playoff zone.
Until the end of the season, Baskonia will play with Girona, Murcia and Real Madrid, while Manresa's rivals are Zaragoza, Bilbao and Tenerife.
