The Telekom 1st Montenegrin football league continues today with the matches of the 24th round, and a real derby in Pljevlja - a duel between two teams that are in the best shape.
The future has been unmatched for a long time, only a mathematical defense of the title awaits, but the hit of the season is the Miners' team, which tied seven consecutive victories in the championship.
The question ahead of today's match at Golubinja (13 p.m.), therefore, is - can Pljevlja continue the streak and end Buducnosti's streak of 20 games without defeat in the championship. In any case, one series will be interrupted - Miner's winning streak, or Futures without defeat.
ŠARIĆ: NO ONE CAN TAKE AWAY HOPE FROM US
From a club that was on the verge of collapse, from a team that feared for its survival, Rudar came to a situation with impressive results to look towards Europe.
- We showed that we can deal with teams from the top of the table and, according to some of our calculations, we lack a maximum of 15 points to avoid the playoffs. On the other hand, if we take into account that there are still 39 points in the game, no one can take away our hope that we can get a place that leads to Europe. I know this may sound unrealistic, but I believe in these great guys, I believe in the coaching staff and all the people in the club - said the president of Pljevljak Duško Šarić.
The victory in Tuzi on Saturday, therefore, slightly raised the ambitions of the two-time champion and four-time winner of the Cup, but survival is still the primary goal.
- I'm sorry that there won't be Vuk Striković against Budućnost - I claim that he is an extraordinary talent, who is the future of our football. We will continue to invest in young people, in the last 15 years Rudar has not had more footballers who grew up in Pljevlja - said Šarić.
MILINKOVIĆ: ANOTHER MINER IS WAITING FOR US
Budućnost, which has not lost on the domestic stage since August, goes to Pljevlja to try to continue its impressive series, although it is severely weakened - with the already injured Draško Božović, Luka Mirković and Miloš Raičković, most likely Petr Grbić will not be there either.
- If we were to look at the statistics in the last seven games, we could say that Rudar is the favorite, since they are playing on their home field and are in excellent shape. But we have our own plans and we will try to realize them - said Buducnosti coach Mladen Milinković, whose team has already defeated Rudar three times in the season so far (championship and cup).
- In the three matches in the first part, it was not the current Miner, but Miner who was burdened with financial problems and was close to exiting the league. Now the club has stabilized, it is good for Montenegrin football that Rudar is back, but we always look at ourselves.
SUTJESKA PREPARED REVENGE FOR DEČIĆ
Since he came to the helm of Sutjeska in November, Miljan Radović has not lost in the championship (six wins, four draws). The only defeat, albeit a very painful one, was in the Cup - against Dečić.
The people of Nikšić are visiting Tuzi again today, in a duel for second place, the winner of which would take a big step towards qualifying for Europe.
- Dečić is a good team, it will be difficult, but we have quality and we know how we will try to win three points - said Radović.
In the second half of the season, Sutjeska achieved three wins and a draw in four matches, while Dečić already suffered two defeats - the same as in the entire autumn part.
- I am grateful to be here and to be part of this group. We are a quality team, and we achieved an important victory against Zeta. But now we turn to Dečić to go there and return to Nikšić with three points - said Sutjeska's Brazilian Kaike Augusto.
In the other matches of the 24th round, Iskra welcomes Petrovac, Zeta Podgorica, while Jezero plays OFK Titograd in Berane.
