A day after the unreal scenes that took place near Gorica after the biggest Montenegrin football derby between Budućnost and Sutjeska, the club from the capital announced.
After the match that ended without a winner (2:2), the "blue" goalkeeper Đorđija Pavličić hit his teammate Igor Ivanović, and the club decided to suspend him.
"The supervisory board unanimously decided to suspend goalkeeper Đorđi Pavličiċ for attacking teammate Igor Ivanoviċ, for violating the club's disciplinary regulations," the announcement reads.
As stated, the Supervisory Board unanimously decided to suspend Pavličić after, as they say, unpleasant scenes seen after the biggest domestic derby and celebration of Montenegrin football.
They emphasize that the suspension takes effect immediately, but did not specify how long it will last.
"Football club Budućnost, as the largest and most representative club in the country, has always strived for fair play, chivalrous competition exclusively on the field during the game, great interpersonal relations, as evidenced by our proud history...", they add from the Podgorica club.
They also add that as a club they distance themselves from non-sporting matters.
"With the hope that we will all find strength together in the period that is ahead of us, because only united can we dream of great deeds", they conclude from Budućnosti.
