The Montenegrin pair of referees, Ivan Pavićević and Miloš Ražnatović, will referee the matches of the handball tournament at the Olympic Games in Paris, the Handball Association announced.
Pavićević and Ražnatović will be the first Montenegrin handball referees to administer justice at the Olympic Games.
It is said that Pavićević and Ražnatović have received the trust of the World Handball Federation (IHF) and will be one of the 16 pairs of referees at the world's largest sports exhibition.
"For the best Montenegrin referees, who have been part of the elite for years, it will be the first Olympic Games where they will administer justice in tournaments in both competitions in which 12 national teams will participate," announced the Handball Association.
The nomination for the Olympic Games represents the crown of the career of Pavićević and Ražnatović, who have so far refereed ten major competitions in the senior competition - five world, four European and Asian championships.
At the previous EHF Euro 2024 in Germany, they served justice in the bronze medal match between Sweden and Germany, which also decided the trip to the Olympic Games.
The EHF recently announced that Pavićević and Ražnatović will referee the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain on May 2 at the "Palau Blaugrana".
