Tomislav Đinović will enter the ring tomorrow, April 19, he needs two victories to qualify for the semifinals and a medal in the lightweight category. The Hungarian, Kruzito Armand Kovač, will be his first obstacle in the afternoon fight program tomorrow.
Đinović is in great shape, he won the title of "Belgrade Winner" as the best boxer, and he was awarded 1.000 euros by Aleksandar Klemenko, the president of the Montenegrin Boxing Association.
Just during the victory at "Pobednik", Đinović knocked down Kovač in the third round of the round of 16.
The captain of our team, Petar Marčić, was unlucky in the draw for the category up to 80 kilograms, because after his first victory over the Belgian Sinembi Ajtan Ležanze, on April 20, he would have a fight with the great Frenchman Cesar Jođerlan.
It was the Frenchman who stopped Marčić in Italy at the Olympic qualification tournament with a unanimous victory, and Jođerlan also became the under-22 European champion in "Morača" last November.
In the category up to 71 kilograms, Stefan Savković is also free by draw in the first fight and he will need two wins for the semi-finals. He will start only on April 21, and his rival will be the winner of the match, Madojan Gurgen (Armenia) - Romeo Buza (Hungary).
And Savković is in excellent shape, he was stopped in Italy at the first qualifying Olympic tournament due to the referee's injustice.
The list of our boxers is rounded off by heavyweight Dilan Prašović, who is boxing against Lithuanian Algidars Baniulis in the evening program on April 20.
And our only competitor, Tamara Radunović, will be the last in the Belgrade ring, only on April 23 in the afternoon program of fights. He will have Hungarian Regina Lakoš as his rival in the category up to 70 kilograms.
Tamara is defending the European senior bronze medal from two years ago, after which she retired from boxing. Nevertheless, the love for the "noble skill" brought the BK Budva boxer back to the "Beogradski Pobednik" ring, which ended with winning the gold medal.
Our selection is weakened in Belgrade at the European Championship, the best European under-22 boxer, Petar Liješević, will not box due to hand surgery, and Bojana Gojković will not defend the European senior silver medal due to health problems.
