The Chess Federation of Montenegro, in cooperation with the Tivat Tourist Organization and the Municipality of Tivat, is organizing the Open Boca Junior Chess Championship, which will be held tomorrow, April 20, at the "Mladost" mixed secondary school.

As part of the event, contracts will be ceremoniously signed with the most talented young chess players who have earned a scholarship from the Chess Federation of Montenegro this year. As a reminder, the Chess Federation of Montenegro decided to grant scholarships to 23 young chess players this year based on the results of the previous year.

The competition is played at an accelerated pace in three categories: under 10, under 14 and under 18. The tournament will be rated in groups in which there are conditions for this. The tournament is open, and all players from the country and abroad have the right to perform.

The Boca Open Championship will be played according to the Swiss system in 7 rounds with a game tempo of 10 minutes per game with a bonus of 5 seconds for each move played starting from the first.

The winners in the categories up to 10, 14 and 18 years old (boys and girls separately) receive a cup and the three first-place competitors receive medals. The books are intended for the best in the categories: up to 8, up to 12 and up to 16 years.

For the winner of the youngest group up to 10 years old, a special prize is a board signed by Magnus Karlsen, from the recently concluded European Team Championship held in Budva.

In this way, chess life in Tivat and on the coast in general is gaining new strength, which is also contributed by ŠK Mimoza with its active chess school, which is already showing great interest.
